Korean Ginseng is a popular herbal extract found in many modern supplements. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicines for centuries. Many call it a “wonder herb”.

But, is it really as good as its proponents claim? What does science say? Today we look at 3 research-backed benefits of Korean Ginseng.

Combats Fatigue and Increases Energy

If you’re suffering from fatigue and low energy, Korean Ginseng might be the herb for you. Research has shown that Korean Ginseng helps combat tiredness and boosts energy levels.

One four-week study explored the effects of 2 grams of Ginseng on people suffering from chronic fatigue. It was found that those given Ginseng felt more energetic, more alert, and less a lot less tired than the group administered the placebo. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23613825/) (1)

Helps in Treating Erectile Dysfunction

Korean Ginseng has proven to be quite effective in treating erectile dysfunction in men.It is viewed as good alternative to invasive surgeries in treating ED.It has been found that Ginseng protects against the build-up oxidative stress in blood vessels in the penis and improves blood circulation. Furthermore, one study even found that Korean Ginseng improved ED symptoms by 60% compared to 30% improvement achieved by regular ED medication.  (7)

Strong Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory

Korean Ginseng helps increase the antioxidant capacity of cells and reduce inflammation, as found in a test-tube studies of ginseng extracts and ginsenoside compounds. Another test-tube study of Koreana Red Ginseng extract verified this claim. A reduction inflammation and an improvement in antioxidant activity was noticed in skin cells of people with eczema. In another study 18 athletes were given 2 grams of Korean Red Ginseng extract three times a day. After one week, it was found that group which received the extract had considerably lower inflammatory markers than the placebo group.
